Prolongs the life of all materials exposed to molten aluminum & non ferrous metals. Troughs, distribution pans, spouts, floats, sand & permanent molds, shell molds & cores, ladles, skimmers. Because of the variety of metals poured and the wide range of temperatures and conditions encountered, each user should use the correct procedure that suits each situation best. A coating procedure must be adapted and policed to prolong the life of your ladles, etc.
R-20 is a clay-colored powder that must be mixed with water. Store a room temperature, heat ladle to 200 to 400 degrees F, dip in stirred slurry, allow to dry, coat again and dry. Surface being coated must be cleaned before coating is applied.
For Aluminum/Stainless Ladles coat each 4 to 8 hours of use, at 1100 to 1200 degrees and 2 to 4 hours of use at 1250 to 1650 degrees.
For Aluminum/Mild Steel Ladles coat each 2 to 4 hours of use, at 1100 to 1200 degrees and 2 hours of use, at 1250 to 1650 degrees.
Not recommended for Brass & Manganese Bronze, Silicon & Aluminum Bronze.
